Selfless Love

“To love regardless of your personal needs, whole heartedly without loving yourself, without any personal gain.”

The kind of love only one experiences when caring for a pet. A living creature that depends solely on you. You give everything to provide them with love and proper care. You expect nothing in return but sloppy kisses, nose bumps or face rubs.

I have always cared for pets, but it wasn’t until Cooper came into my life that I experienced selfless love for an animal. I would give anything to protect him and keep him healthy. He has brought so much joy into my life, it’s unimaginable. Seeing his twitchy nose hopping towards me to greet me brightens my day. The way he expresses his love towards us is like no other, without words, just a simple head nudge letting us know he wants to cuddle. I cannot fathom a life without him, he changed our world and has made me realize how truly deep love towards a furry friend can be!

I have learned so much about caring for an animal from him and realized the enormous mistakes I made in the past with previous pets. I have so much to thank him for and the only way I can, is to provide him with unconditional love and the best life that a rabbit can possibly have.

No furry creature should ever feel pain, hunger or loneliness. If only human beings realized how much they mean to their furry friends. The voiceless and innocent victims of so much abuse. If they would only open their eyes and realize how much love they have towards us, their lives would change forever. An animals’ love is incomparable and I thank God for placing me in Cooper’s path!

“Until one has loved an animal, a part of one’s soul remains unawakened.” — Anatole France
